It took the Upjohn company 109 years before someone finally took the bait. After a legendary weeklong round of celebratory high-fives between CEO John Stevens, COO John Eidson and corporate counsel John Usman, the company ceased operations in 1995.

An Overview of Circle Squirrel

Circle Squirrel is the city that Jeremy lives in. It’s a miniature sanctuary walled off from the terrifying full-sized outside world.

There is only one of every job. One police officer, one firefighter, one sign spinner, and there’s Jeremy, the one garbage boy. The garbage boy is possibly the most dangerous job in Circle Squirrel because it is the only job that requires a squirrel to leave the safety of the city walls to go to the dump.

Circle Squirrel is based on my Squirrel Family Tree (I’ll figure out a good way to post it again soon … ) and on Midland, the Canadian town I live in now. There’s also a lot of inspiration from Richard Scarry and Seth’s invented Canadian city of Dominion.
